Chapter Philanthropy
Alpha Xi Delta is excited to bring the new long term philanthropy. Our new philanthropy focus will be supporting children experiencing foster care or homelessness through the Kindly Hearts Initiative.
This name will serve as the umbrella to our philanthropic focus on supporting children experience foster care or homelessness. It is not an organization for which money will be raised. As we begin emerging from the pandemic, we turn our focus, not our hearts, elsewhere.
At any given time, there are between 2,000 and 2,600 children in foster care in New Mexico. In Dona Ana County alone there are approximately 200 children in foster care. As of school year 2019/2020 in New Mexico there are approximately 9000 homeless children/youth enrolled in public schools. Alpha Xi Delta is dedicated to aiding organizations who provide access to these needs and support resources in our local communities and across the country.
Our chapter loves serving the community as well as participating in events put forth by other Greek-letter organizations. From the Children's Miracle Network to the Make A Wish Foundation, realizing our potential through philanthropic efforts is one of the most rewarding experiences our sisters can have. We have donated over $500 in the past year to help support fellow Greeks and their philanthropies.
