Alpha Xi Delta’s Philanthropic Focus

The Kindly Hearts Initiative

The Kindly Hearts Initiative serves as the umbrella to our national philanthropic focus of supporting children and teens experiencing foster care or homelessness. Alpha Xi Deltas across the country support two Key Impact Organizations, FosterClub and StandUp for Kids, making a national and regional difference under the umbrella of our focus.

Letters of Love

All Alpha Xi Delta chapters and alumnae associations participate in Letters of Love, Alpha Xi Delta’s national letter writing fundraising campaign. Held annually during the month of November this campaign benefits Alpha Xi Delta’s two Key Impact Organizations, StandUp for Kids and FosterClub.

Our Chapter's Impact:

Alpha Xi Delta is excited to bring the new long term philanthropy. Our new philanthropy focus will be supporting children and teens experiencing foster care or homelessness through the Kindly Hearts Initiative.

This name will serve as the umbrella to our philanthropic focus on supporting children and teens experience foster care or homelessness. As a chapter, we are given the opportunity to support key impact organizations making a national or regional difference under the umbrella of our focus as well as the option to collaborate with local impact organizations.

At any given time, there are between 2,000 and 2,600 children in foster care in New Mexico. In Dona Ana County alone there are approximately 200 children in foster care. As of school year 2021-2022 in New Mexico there are approximately 9,835 homeless children/youth enrolled in public schools. Out of those 9 thousand children and youth, 68% of them are living with another family and 7% of them are unsheltered as their primary nighttime residence. Alpha Xi Delta is dedicated to aiding organizations who provide access to these needs and support resources in our local communities and across the country.

Our chapter loves serving the community as well as participating in events put forth by other Greek-letter organizations. From Service for Sight to the Make A Wish Foundation, realizing our potential through philanthropic efforts is one of the most rewarding experiences our sisters can have. We have donated over $500 in the past year to help support fellow Greeks and their philanthropies.

Additional Philanthropic Events

The Theta Omega chapter takes a lot of pride in supporting our philanthropy, we do so by holding events. We coordinate multiple events each school semester, these include; a big event we like to call "Xi Week", group and individual service project opportunities, donation drives, profit share nights at local restaurants, food fundraising events and more! During Xi Week we raised over $4,000 to support The Kindly Hearts Initiative. Follow us on social media to see event announcements and information about our philanthropy!
